On Sunday the 22nd September the Camberley Theatre was buzzing for the sell-out Mayor’s Fashion Show which was raising money for Cllr Beverley Harding’s chosen charity ourselves the Lisa May Foundation.

The stage and catwalk were lit and the audience were treated to two hours of glitz and glamour as local retailers; House of Fraser, BHS, Diamond Days of Bagshot, Diamond Nights of Windlesham and Parity’s Frimley Charity shop all showcased their latest collections.

There was everything from casuals, work wear, sleepwear, party frocks, prom dresses all the way to a stunning bridal collection. Humour was also added by the Ramses Boyz, three male belly dancers who train with Shimmy Café, the female dance troupe and they all added fantastic dance routines to some of the scenes.

All the models, without whom the show would have not been possible, volunteered their time to strut their stuff to the carefully choreographed extravaganza. Amongst them were 14 children aged between 4 and 16 years and Cheryl said ‘they not only behaved impeccably but they made the job look easy.’

Fanni Walsh from LMF and who was coordinating backstage said, ‘behind the scenes was buzzing, everyone that took part looked gorgeous and enjoyed every second. It was lovely to see so many people come together to support their local community and their Mayor.’

The Grand Raffle has not yet been drawn so the final amount raised is yet to be totalled but it does look set to be over a whopping £2600!

Both the charity and the force behind the idea, the Mayor Cllr. Beverley Harding can’t thank everyone enough that made this happen and of course the audience for buying tickets and therefore raising funds for such great causes.
