Unite With LMF and Help Those Affected by Typhoon Haiyan
News
As you will all be aware the Philippines was sadly struck by Typhoon Haiyan on the 8th November 2013. It is the most intense storm to ever hit landfall and spanned over 300 miles with winds of up to 195mph.
Millions of people have been affected and have been left without homes and shelter so help is desperately needed to provide access to such things that are vital to survive.
The Lisa May Foundation was founded in memory of Lisa who tragically lost her life in another devastating natural disaster, the Tsunami, which struck Phi Phi, Thailand in 2004. Part of the Foundation’s ethos is to support, as and when required, others whose lives have been drastically changed by such an event.
Another aspect very important to the Foundation is the channel and way money is donated in the wake of such an event. It is vital that aid directly reaches those that need it, as it did in previous projects and therefore time is taken to make sure LMF give the right response.
It is has been a week since this tragic event and in that time John May and the team have been researching the correct way to donate and the right organisations to use. As a result the Lisa May Foundation will be donating a sum of money to Caritas, World Villages for Children and ShelterBox.
If you also wish to make a donation but haven’t been sure of the best route then we welcome you to donate via LMF. This will boost the overall sum and will be added to the disaster relief fund.
Simply visit https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/giving/ and in the box titled ‘Donate To Charity’ type in Lisa May Foundation and you will be directed to our page. It is very easy and only takes a couple of minutes.
All donations received via this site over the next four weeks will go towards those in the Philippines.
Every donation counts, only give what you can but in return you will know you are making a difference.
