Shooting Stars Raise £800 for LMF

The weather on Sunday 4th August was just perfect for a Clay Pigeon shoot and BBQ and the setting was too, the picturesque Lilly Pond Terrace at Pennyhill Park Hotel.

The day began with all the sharp shooters meeting in the main reception and then going on a short buggy ride to the shooting range, where Bill Hartman was waiting to meet and greet. He and his team then coached those who had never shot before and encouraged the more skilled shooters to perfect their skills.

Amongst the guests was a couple of fantastic younger shooters Peter Thornton and Rachel Talbot, they were both naturals and very confident participants. Everyone had a great experience and wanted to do it all again.

After a short stroll back to the hotel the shooters joined family members and friends on the terrace for a BBQ in the sun, which shone all afternoon. The tables were laid, Pimms flowed, fantastic food was served and Robert Webb, an accomplished Saxophonist entertained with an array of relaxing and uplifting tracks.

The Mayor of Surrey Heath, Cllr Beverley Harding spoke about her choice of charity and thanked our Founder Cllr John May for his considerable contribution to local charitable funds since expanding his daughter’s charity after his own Mayoral year.

It was one of those treasured, beautiful, British afternoons that we all want more of. All guests enjoyed the day and left knowing their support was appreciated by the Mayor, our Founder and all the charities under LMF’s umbrella.

But the true success of the day was the amazing amount raised, £800, which was in the most part made possible by our guest’s generosity and all those who supported the Foundation on the day.
