Surrey Young Carers Enjoy A Rare Night Out…
News
On Thursday 19th September LMF treated the Surrey Young Carers Youth Group to a fun night out. The older members of the group meet a few times a year to spend time with their peers sharing experiences and offering each other valuable support. The event is a much needed break however taking 30 plus people out for dinner can cost a large sum, which is why LMF wanted to cover one!
They usually participate in an activity and then have some food and on this occasion LMF picked up the tab. Not only did the attendees get to either have a pamper or go bowling they were also joined by two special guests, the Mayor of Surrey Heath, Beverley Harding and her Consort Malcolm Harding. They both greeted the girls in House of Fraser as they arrived and also joined them for dinner to chat. They proved a real hit and posed for photos before they all headed home.
Our new supporters House of Fraser, Camberley offered and organized an exclusive one hour pamper session for the girls, which included make up advice and mini makeovers done by both Lancôme & Dior.
Once word had spread about what we were trying to do Glo hairdressers from Camberley offered to attend as well and gave the girls glam hair dos.
The girls were welcomed with open arms by the ladies from Lancôme and Dior and the Duty Manager Mel was happy to keep the store open exclusively for them which made them feel like celebs!
The boys from SYC were treated to a bowling session at the Bowlplex in the Atrium who offered a generous discount.
Once the girls were all glammed up we took the whole group for a slap up meal at The Real China in the Atrium. Once again local businesses were so supportive that we were paying the bill they gave them a really super treat.
Working together we can achieve so much more for those who really do deserve it.
