On Saturday 21 October, we joined forces with the Mayor of Surrey Heath Cllr Valerie White to hold the first of her Mayor’s charity fundraising events.

The evening was held in a rather new and unusual venue, upstairs at the Glo Hair Salon in Park Street Camberley. The Glo team have made a unique and trendy bar on the first floor of the salon, which was the perfect setting for a wine tasting fit for the many Mayor’s from other boroughs, distinguished guests and supporters.

Guests were greeted with a welcome drink of Prosecco and took their seats for an Italian themed wine event. Wine was served complete with cheeses and meats that complimented them perfectly.

Music was provided by local saxophonist, Bob Webb and also some fab sounds from Gavin resident DJ extraordinaire at the AfterGlo bar.    All generously supported the raffle and the evening raised a superb £1,200 for the Mayor’s charities, The Lisa May Foundation and The Harper Asprey Wildlife Rescue Centre.

Thanks must go to Glo for the superb venue, Bottles and Battles the Wine company and their lovely sommelier Martina who supplied us with wine and her knowledge. Last but not least we must thank the Mayor herself, who chose us as one of her charities and intends to help us raise our profiles and some much-needed funds to support the work  that  both charities do in the close community and beyond.

Why not come and see us carol singing with a twist on 22 December outside Waitrose Bagshot? It promises to be both a visual and tuneful experience!
